Dear Massage Practitioner…
Why would you want to get a national certification anyhow?

Well, we KNOW that the Ohio STATE MEDICAL BOARD exam was a “trip” to take BUT, even then, our Ohio license won’t be accepted as “enough” in other states to practice massage. Thirty-three states, including Arizona and Florida, the District of Columbia, Guam, the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico, currently recognize or use NCBTMB examinations in stature or rule. Eighteen states recognize the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Exam (MBLEx) as the “test” you have to pass to practice. Some of these states accept both (Arkansas and Oregon are the ONLY to accept the MBLEx).
This is what I’ll do for you in this review class:

Give you the paper copy of the NCETMB application (if this is what you choose to take) so you don’t have to print the thing. It’s 50+ pages.

Decide which exam to take and why you might want to take the one you are choosing (Therapeutic Massage Exam vs. Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork vs. MBLEx).

Walk you through the application process including the additional supporting paperwork you must provide.

Give you study materials including quizzes for the content you have to “grasp” to pass the exam.

Teach and review content for the exams including: general knowledge of the body systems including anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and pathology plus therapeutic massage/bodywork assessment and application, and professional standards, ethics, business/legal practices.
Who knows, maybe you and I will NEVER leave the state for some warm, sunny climate (unlike OHIO!) BUT, why not be prepared, just in case! It’s sort of American-like, to be prepared even though “it” might never happen!
So, why not join some other fun-loving, information-seeking, credential-liking people in a review class to help you earn the opportunity to add several more letters after your name AND to be ready for that “BIG” move, if it occurs!
